Online ticket holders for the East Bengal FC vs Mohun Bagan Super Giant Durand Cup 2026 opener must collect physical tickets from designated Maidan box offices, as QR codes and M-tickets will not be accepted for stadium entry.
Kolkata, July 23: Just days after the Durand Cup 2026 official press conference in Kolkata, where organisers highlighted a paperless and hassle-free ticketing system for this year’s tournament, a special arrangement has been announced for the opening match.
For the Durand Cup opener between East Bengal FC and Mohun Bagan Super Giant on July 25 from 5:00 PM, fans who purchased tickets online will not be allowed entry with only their QR code or M-ticket. Instead, all online ticket holders must redeem a physical ticket from the designated box offices at the East Bengal and Mohun Bagan Maidan tents before entering the stadium.
The organisers clarified that this requirement applies specifically to the Kolkata Derby, urging supporters to collect their physical tickets well in advance to avoid last-minute inconvenience on matchday.
While the organisers have not specified the reason behind the change, the move appears to have been introduced to ensure smoother crowd management for the high-profile Kolkata Derby, which is expected to draw a packed crowd. Fans are advised to collect their physical tickets well before matchday, as entry to the stadium will not be permitted with QR codes or M-tickets alone.
The physical ticket rule is only for the Durand Cup opener, to avoid any inconvenience on matchday. From the next matches, fans can use their online tickets for entry under the paperless system.
