ISL 2026-27 expands its reach with free YouTube streaming, Sony Sports TV coverage and all 163 matches on Sony LIV.
Kolkata, October 7: Indian football fans will have more options to watch the Indian Super League this season, with the league announcing a new multi-platform partnership involving YouTube, Sony Sports Network and Sony LIV for the 2026-27 campaign.
The biggest change for viewers will be the availability of every ISL match live and free on YouTube. Alongside the free digital coverage, Sony Sports Network will bring the league to television, while Sony LIV will stream all 163 matches online.
The arrangement is set to give fans multiple ways to follow the competition, whether through television, smartphones or connected-TV platforms.
YouTube’s involvement will go beyond live matches. The platform will also carry additional ISL content, including highlights, Shorts, interviews, behind-the-scenes footage and analysis, allowing fans to follow the league even when matches are not being played.
Sony Sports Network, meanwhile, will serve as the league’s television broadcast partner in India. More than 80 matches are expected to be shown across its television channels, while the complete 163-match schedule will be available on Sony LIV.
The new broadcast model comes as the ISL looks to expand its reach among India’s growing digital and connected-TV audience. According to the league, India’s connected-TV audience has reached 166 million monthly viewers, while viewing on YouTube through connected-TV devices has also recorded significant growth.
The 2026-27 season will feature 13 clubs, with the first phase consisting of 78 matches between October 10, 2026 and January 17, 2027. The league has also placed greater emphasis on weekend fixtures, with 53 Phase 1 games scheduled for Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays.
The upcoming campaign will also take the ISL to new territory. Imphal will host its first ISL fixture when NorthEast United FC face Sporting Club Delhi at the Khuman Lampak Stadium on November 24. Another first will come in Goa, where Churchill Brothers and FC Goa will contest the first-ever ISL Goa Derby.
With free YouTube coverage combined with television and OTT options through Sony, the ISL’s latest media arrangement is expected to make the league easier to access for fans across India.
For supporters who previously depended on paid digital access to follow the competition, the introduction of free live matches on YouTube could become one of the most significant changes to the way the ISL is consumed in the 2026-27 season.
