Kolkata, March 7: Mohammedan SC dropped points in their fourth match of the ongoing Indian Super League, losing 2–1 to Bengaluru FC at home on Saturday evening at the Kishore Bharati Krirangan. Despite putting up a strong fight in the second half, Mohammedan SC tried hard to pull things back, but suffered defeat.
The first half belonged to the Blues. Within 17 minutes, they created a threat from Rayn Williams’ cross. Inside the box, Farooq received the ball, turned, and then it went to Fanai, who attempted a shot that went closely wide.
In the 19th minute, Sajad Hussain saved his team from conceding, making a goal-line clearance from Sunil Chhetri’s shot. However, the net did not remain untouched for long. In the 22nd minute, from Siroj’s corner, Sunil Chhetri headed the ball down inside the box, and Ryan Williams sent it into the net to give Bengaluru FC the lead. And within 42nd minute Ashique doubled the score to give a secure 2-0 lead to Bengaluru FC before the half time.

Mohammedan SC started the second half with much rhythm as they looked to come back into the game. In the 52nd minute, they found the goal to reduce the deficit. Adison delivered a cross inside the box which Rahul Bheke tried to clear, but the rebound fell to Mahitosh Roy, who sent the ball into the net from distance.

In the 66th minute, Adison was crucial again, sending a cross from the right which Lalthankima received and attempted a shot towards the net, but it hit the crossbar. In the 85th minute, Lalthankima again got an opportunity and attempted a shot, but Gurpreet made a diving save to hold the lead.
In the final moments of additional time, in the 90+6th minute, Fardin Ali managed to send the ball into the net from a goal-bound move inside the box. However, Bengaluru FC goalkeeper Gurpreet Singh was fouled during the situation, so the goal was cancelled. The final whistle was then blown in favour of Bengaluru FC.
