SC Delhi dominated Inter Kashi 3-0, with Fortes, Peña and Rodriguinho scoring to secure a convincing victory.
SC Delhi produced a convincing performance to defeat Inter Kashi 3-0, with Carlos Fortes, Juan Peña and Rodriguinho finding the net. Inter Kashi had their moments, particularly towards the end of the first half, but their inability to convert opportunities proved costly. Sporting Delhi, meanwhile, looked more threatening in the final third and made their chances count.
Fortes gives Sporting Delhi an early advantage
Sporting Delhi wasted little time making their presence felt. After Juan Peña had threatened with an early header, Carlos Fortes broke the deadlock in the sixth minute. Rodriguinho created the opportunity with a well-timed assist, allowing Fortes to finish from close range.
Inter Kashi tried to respond through set-pieces and deliveries into the box. Pratik Chaudhari came particularly close in the 45th minute, seeing his header strike the left post. It was a frustrating moment for the home side, who could have gone into the break on level terms.
SC Delhi also had opportunities to extend their advantage, with Rodriguinho and Mohammed Aimen testing the opposition defence. However, the visitors carried their slender 1-0 lead into half-time.
Peña and Rodriguinho seal the contest
Inter Kashi showed some intent after the restart, with Jitendra Singh attempting from distance and Leewan Castanha forcing a save. But Sporting Delhi gradually regained control and punished their opponents in the 74th minute.
Manoj Mohammed delivered an inviting cross from the left, and Juan Peña made no mistake with his header, sending the ball into the bottom-left corner.
The second goal left Inter Kashi with plenty to do, and their attempts to get back into the contest opened up spaces at the other end. Sporting Delhi capitalised in the 88th minute when Rodriguinho finished with his left foot from inside the box to make it 3-0.
Inter Kashi still searched for a consolation goal, but Aphaoba Singh and Ayush Chhikara failed to find the target in stoppage time.
For Sporting Delhi, this was a result built on clinical finishing and better execution in crucial moments. Inter Kashi, meanwhile, will rue the chances they failed to take.
