On the other hand, this fixture is crucial for the Islanders as they haven’t yet qualified for the playoffs and need to win to secure a spot in the top six, with four teams already qualified. Mumbai City sits in sixth place in the group table with 32 points from 21 matches now.
Out of their 11 encounters so far, Mumbai City FC has won seven times, while Mohun Bagan Super Giants have secured just one victory. The Mariners are in great form, staying unbeaten in their last five away games with three wins and two draws.
In the ongoing ISL Mumbai City FC has recorded just four home wins this season, their lowest since 2015 and 2016. Meanwhile, Jose Molina’s team has kept six clean sheets in a row.
COACHES VIEW:
Mohun Bagan head coach Jose Molina said:
“Football is both very challenging and very simple at the same time. The key to success remains the same—work hard, stay focused, and have a talented squad”.
“Mohun Bagan SG have been more clinical in the final third compared to us. We’ve created chances but haven’t converted enough, and that’s an area we need to improve”.
Mumbai City FC head coach Piter Kratky said.
