Mumbai City FC hosted Mohammedan SC at the Mumbai Football Arena on January 26 and clinched a victory. A second-half attacking storm changed the scoreline to 3-0 in favor of the Islanders.
In the 12th minute of the match, Mohammedan SC got a chance from a corner kick. Gourav Bora attempted a header from the middle of the box but failed to convert it into a goal. Both teams wasted several chances in the first half. However, a defensive lapse of Mohammedan SC, in the second half changed the momentum of the game.
Till the 72nd minute, the score remained untouched. However, an own goal from Gourav Bora opened the scoring for the hosts. Within five minutes, Chhangte doubled the lead with a stunning left-footed shot from inside the box.

In the 79th minute, Franca earned a free kick and delivered the ball into the box, but Manvir Singh Saini was caught offside, wasting another chance to bring Mohammedan back into the game. In the 82nd minute, Krouma made it 3-0 for Mumbai City FC. From the center of the box, he unleashed an on-target right-footed shot, sealing the scoreline for Mumbai City FC and securing all three points.

After putting up a hard-fought performance in their previous match, Mohammedan SC struggled to maintain consistency and once again failed to secure any points tonight. On the other hand, Mumbai City FC capitalized on their victory, climbing to fifth place on the table with 27 points from 17 games. Chhangte delivered an outstanding performance, completing 26 of his 32 attempted passes, registering one tackle, with two goal-scoring opportunities, delivering six crosses, and scoring a goal.
