Kolkata, March 7: Mohun Bagan SG will host their final fixture of the ongoing Indian Super League season against FC Goa in front of their fans at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan at 7:30 PM tomorrow.
The successful defending league shield champions had a smooth and amazing season, holding the top spot for a long time with a record-breaking points total of 53 from 23 matches. They lost only two matches, one of them against FC Goa. In the reverse fixture, Goa clinched a 1-0 victory at home. Manolo Marquez’s team also had an amazing season, sitting in second place with 48 points from the same number of matches. Both teams will play their final fixtures of the season tomorrow.
Ahead of tomorrow’s clash, Molina spoke about his opponents, stating that they are also very impactful and that their entire squad is equally strong, which is why they are having a great season. He added that his team will be highly aware of the challenge they pose. Mohun Bagan SG has already won the ISL 2024-25 Shield with three matches remaining, but tomorrow, Molina stated that he is not going to compromise on his best starting eleven, as he aims to add three more points to their historic points total.
Jamie Maclaren is on his third yellow card, so the head coach is not going to take any risks with him tomorrow. Additionally, Sahal Samad is not match-fit. Subhasish Bose and Deepak Tangri are also unavailable due to card suspension.
Mohun Bagan SG have scored 3+ goals in 9 of their 23 league games this season.
