Kolkata, April 26: Mohammedan Sporting Club once again earned points, but not the full three. In the ongoing Indian Super League clash, Mohammedan SC scored twice to secure a 2–2 draw against Sporting Club Delhi at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi. In an end-to-end contest and a must-win game, the Black and White Army showed fight and confidence but managed only one point, which puts them in further difficulty in the race to stay in the league.
Within 17 minutes, SC Delhi managed to take the lead. In a goal-bound attack, Aimen entered the box when Padam Chhetri came off his line to stop him, resulting in a foul. SC Delhi were awarded a penalty, and Babovic stepped up to convert it.
From a statistical standpoint, the young side struggled to create any goal-bound threat and lacked possession as the game moved into its second quarter, but then Adison showed up with a brilliant on-target shot which equalised the score. Receiving a through ball, Adison from the left entered the box, cutting past the advancing SC Delhi keeper. Alex Saji tried to intercept, but Adison cut past him again to chip the ball into the net to make it 1–1 for Mohammedan SC.

At the start of the next half, SC Delhi once again puts them ahead. Joseph Sunny sent a cross into the box, which Babovic finished from inside the six-yard box, placing it into the net between a crowd of players to score his and Delhi’s second goal of the match.
However, in the 65th minute, Mohammedan SC equalised the score again. From a corner, Makan Chhote played a short one-two and unleashed an on-target shot, which the SC Delhi keeper saved, resulting in another corner. From the right, Saka took it and played it short to Mahitosh, who sent a cross into the box, which Hira Mondal headed into the net, scoring his first goal of the league and securing a crucial point for the Black and White Army.

In the 74th minute, Mohammedan SC got a golden opportunity to take the lead. With a quick attack, Sajad Hussain passed the ball to Lalthankima, who, while entering the box from midfield, attempted a shot, but the SC Delhi keeper saved it to deny the threat. With that move, Kima picked up a slight injury, and within a few minutes, he was substituted off as he was unable to continue.
In a must-win match to save themselves from relegation, Mohammedan SC showed better confidence and attacking intent in this match but managed to earn only a point, taking them to 3 points from 10 matches after three consecutive draws. On the other hand, Delhi have 9 points and stand 10th after nine matches. Mohammedan SC’s next match becomes even more crucial against Kerala Blasters on 10 May, as the need for a win puts them in a do-or-die situation.
