Kerala Blasters sign 22-year-old Malayali attacker Mohammed Sanan from Jamshedpur FC on a deal until 2028-29.
Kerala Blasters FC have strengthened their attacking options by bringing in 22-year-old Mohammed Sanan K from Jamshedpur FC. The Kerala-born winger has put pen to paper on a deal that will keep him with the club until the end of the 2028-29 season, marking a return to his home state after three seasons in the Indian Super League.
Sanan’s rise through the ISL
Sanan has taken a steady route into senior football. He was part of the Reliance Foundation Young Champs programme before making the move into professional football in 2023. Jamshedpur FC gave him his opportunity at ISL level, and the attacker quickly began getting regular minutes.
His first ISL season came in 2023-24, when he featured in 20 league matches. Sanan remained involved during the following campaign as well, appearing 24 times in the 2024-25 league season.
Those appearances have given him experience of the demands of top-flight Indian football at a relatively young age. His ability to operate in different attacking positions has also made him a useful option in the final third.
A versatile option for the Blasters
Sanan is most comfortable on the left wing but is capable of playing on the right and through the middle when required. His game is centred around taking on defenders, carrying the ball into dangerous areas and making runs into open spaces.
For Kerala Blasters, his arrival adds another player capable of providing width and attacking movement. His versatility could also allow the coaching staff to use him in different roles depending on the opposition and match situation.
The move is particularly significant for Sanan because it brings him back to Kerala. Having developed within the state’s footballing environment, he will now get the opportunity to represent Kerala Blasters and play in front of supporters who share a strong connection with the club and the local game.
At 22, Sanan still has plenty of time to develop his game. His three years of ISL exposure now give him a platform to take another step forward with Kerala Blasters.
