The Black and White Army traveled to Kochi for their next away fixture against the Yellow Army. Today, Kerala Blasters FC will host Mohammedan SC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Kochi, at 7:30 PM.
This season marks the maiden campaign of Mohammedan in the league. In their head-to-head record, the two teams have faced each other only once, with Kerala Blasters emerging victorious in that encounter. Both teams have faced challenges and have not had a positive start to the season. Following their previous match, Kerala Blasters announced the departure of their head coach, Mikael Stahre.
Until a new head coach is appointed, the Kerala Blasters senior team is being managed by their reserve team coach, Tomasz, along with Purushothaman. Currently, Kerala Blasters FC sits 10th in the group table with 11 points from 12 matches, while Mohammedan is at the bottom of the table with 5 points from 11 matches.

On the other hand, Mohammedan is dealing with internal club issues as well as injury concerns. In defense, Gourav Bora is not match-fit, and Manzoki is still recovering from his injury. The team is also still searching for their first win of the season.
In the pre-match press conference, Chernyshov expressed, “It’s great to work with my players because they are very professional. They love their job and the club. In football, there are times when you play well but still don’t win the match.
And, Kerala Blasters FC’s new interim coach, Purushothaman, stated, “Every team has its own positives and negatives, and any team can make things difficult for us depending on whether they’re having a good day or not. We have to play well at home.
Today, both teams will play their 12th match in search of a win. On December 21, after the match day minus one training session, Mohammedan left Kolkata.
