Jamshedpur FC will host the first leg of the second semi-final of the ongoing ISL against Mohun Bagan SG on April 3 at the JRD Tata Sports Complex. The defending ISL Shield champions have already arrived to face the Red Miners tomorrow. The match will be live from 7:30 PM.
Mohun Bagan SG played their last match a long time ago against FC Goa on March 8, while Jamshedpur recently played their knockout game against Northeast United FC. However, Mohun Bagan SG’s head coach doesn’t think that will affect them.
Manvir Singh and Apuia are still not fully match-fit. During the international game in Shillong, Manvir got injured, left the national camp, and returned to Kolkata. Apuia played in the AFC Asian qualifiers but also picked up an injury. Ahead of tomorrow’s crucial semi-final, both players remain doubtful, and it is uncertain whether they will be available.
Mohun Bagan have been unbeaten in their last six games, winning three, scoring 13 goals, and conceding only three. One more win will set a new club record for their longest unbeaten streak away from home. Additionally, it could boost their confidence for the second leg of the semi-final in Kolkata.
The Red Miners haven’t managed a single win in their last six encounters against Mohun Bagan SG, losing four. One more winless result will mark their longest winless run against a single club in the Indian Super League.
After a dominant historic season, finishing at the top of the table and securing the league shield for the second consecutive time, the Green and Maroon brigade is now waiting for the crucial semi-final clash. Meanwhile, after an impressive season finishing 5th, Jamshedpur FC, led by the only Indian coach, is ready to face Mohun Bagan SG in the playoffs for the first time, as both teams have never met each other in the playoffs before.
