At the Kalyani Stadium on November 22, Inter Kashi began their second I-League campaign with a victory against the newly promoted Sporting Club Bengaluru. With a one-nil scoreline, Antonio Lopez Habas’s Inter Kashi secured the win.
With an attacking football display, Kashi kicked off the match. In the 6th minute, from the left and just outside the corner of the box, Nikola took a long strike that went just inches over the crossbar.
In the 15th minute, Kashi launched another brilliant attack from the right flank. Domi Berlanga made his way into the box, and from close to the goal line, he took a shot, but SC Bengaluru’s goalkeeper, Sabyasachi, made a great save with his leg.
After the 25th minute of the game, the attacking pace slowed down. In the first half, SC Bengaluru’s defense stood strong. However, throughout the first half, Inter Kashi played with dominance, holding a maximum of 55% ball possession, but the half ended with a 0-0 score.
In the second half, at the 72nd minute, Kashi got their much-awaited goal. From Kartick Panicker’s assist, Edmund gave his team the lead with a header. Within seven minutes, Inter Kashi built up another goal-bound move. From the right, Domi Berlanga sent a cross to Nikola, who took a shot, but substitute defender Shravan Shetty made a great save and cleared the ball away.

However, with a dominant performance, Kashi ended their first match of the I-League 2024-25 campaign. Despite several goal-bound moves, only one goal was scored, and Edmund Lalrindika headed out three crucial points in the bag for Kashi tonight. Inter Kashi have their next I league 2024-25 fixture on December 1, against Delhi FC.
