Kolkata, May 9: East Bengal FC Women sealed a dominant win over SESA FA with a half-dozen goals on Saturday evening at the East Bengal Ground. Anthony Andrews’ girls bounced back after their unbeaten streak ended, registering a 6–0 victory to strengthen their hold on the top spot in the Indian Women’s League points table.
From the start of the match, the Moshal Girls played attacking football, and the change of inclusion of Karthika in the starting eleven brought the breakthrough early. In the 13th minute, Karthika broke the deadlock for East Bengal FC Women with a stunning long-range strike.

Continuing their attacking display, in the 25th minute Fazila earned a free-kick just outside the box after being challenged by Payel Layak. Karthika stepped up to take the free-kick and found the target perfectly to double the scoreline.

Around the final minute of the first-half regulation time, Shilky earned another free-kick, giving Karthika a chance to complete her hat-trick and score her team’s third goal. However, she could not convert the opportunity. But in added time, the Moshal Girls produced a brilliant team move that resulted in the third goal.
In the final phase of the move, Astham Oraon delivered a pass from the left outside corner of the box to Soumya Guguloth, who was positioned inside the penalty area. Soumya cut past the blue shirts, moved forward, and calmly placed the ball into the net from close range, beating the keeper.

And within two minutes before the final whistle, Susmita made it 4–0 for the Moshal Girls with a header. From the right side of the box, Astham delivered a cross towards the far post, which Susmita guided into the net.

The Moshal Girls maintained their rhythm and started the second half with the same attacking intensity, showing they wanted more goals and had no intention of stopping there. As a result, in the 69th minute, Fazila made it 5–0 with a powerful long-range strike.

As it seemed the game would end with a five-star scoreline for the Moshal Girls, Resty came up with a masterpiece. In the 87th minute, from the right inside the box, Resty unleashed a shot towards the far post that struck the post before going into the net, sealing a 6–0 victory for East Bengal Women.
