East Bengal FC Hunts Historic Triumph Against Struggling Hyderabad FC on 26.02.2025

Kolkata, February 25: East Bengal FC will host Hyderabad FC tomorrow at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan from 7:30 PM. Both teams have three more matches to play this season, and for both, it has become quite impossible to secure a top-six spot in the ongoing ISL.

After winning back-to-back matches, East Bengal FC is now 9th in the points table with 24 points from 21 matches, while Hyderabad FC is sitting 12th with 17 points from the same number of matches. In the ongoing ISL, the reverse fixture saw a 90th-minute equalizer by Hyderabad to secure a single point from the match.

In the Red and Gold camp, some injury concerns have arisen for Oscar Bruzon. Nanda Kumar, Richard Celis, and PV Vishnu are unavailable for tomorrow’s clash. However, Cleiton has started rehab in the matchday-minus-one training session. Celis was training separately, while Nanda and Vishnu did not join the final practice.

East Bengal FC have scored three goals in their each of last two games but never in three straight ISL matches. They’ll aim to change that against Hyderabad FC. Hyderabad have lost 12 times this season, including eight away games. Only NorthEast United FC (9 in 2022-23) have had more away defeats in one ISL season.

Coaches View:

Chasing three in a row! East Bengal FC is chasing three consecutive wins for the first time!

“We are expecting to achieve three consecutive wins, something that hasn’t happened before. But the thing is, we are already winning, and the most important thing is that the team looks in shape and in form, confident and determined to keep this good run and end the season on the best note. However, we cannot take our rival lightly—they have had a good run, apart from their first leg, and they also want to try to end the season on the best note.

Aggression in attack, control in possession! The Nawab’s are ready for the challenge!
“We play aggressive, possession-based football, and the players believe in it. We’ve prepared well for this match,” said Hyderabad interim head coach Shameel Chembakath.
