Within two days, the U17 women’s team will begin their AFC Asian Cup 2026 campaign in China. After qualifying for the tournament after 21 years, the Young Tigresses are ready to show their determination and fighting spirit on the main stage. Their first match will be against Australia. India placed in group B along with Australia, Japan and Lebanon, and all the games will be played in the Suzhou Taihu Football Sports Centre.
Under newly appointed coach Pamela Conte, who joined four months ago, the Young Tigresses have continued their training for months, playing valuable friendly matches before arriving in China with a 23-member squad.
The top two teams from each group, along with the two best third-placed teams across all three groups, will qualify for the quarter-finals. The four quarter-final winners will then secure qualification for the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup Morocco 2026.
