Kolkata, February 15: Tomorrow, Mohammedan SC will host East Bengal FC at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan from 7:30 PM. Both Kolkata giants are struggling in this edition of the Indian Super League, and their ongoing journey has not been smooth. East Bengal FC is currently in 11th position on the points table with 18 points from 19 matches, while Mohammedan SC sits at the bottom with 11 points from the same number of matches. A top-six spot is out of reach for both teams, as the upper-ranked sides are fiercely competing for it.
Kasimov is suspended for three matches after making an illegal challenge on a player in the last Kolkata derby against Mohun Bagan. As a result, he missed the previous clash against Hyderabad FC and will also miss tomorrow’s derby. Captain Adinga and Irshad didn’t practice with the team, they had a light warm-up and a limited training session on the sideline in the last training session, while Samad Ali is still not match-fit.
On the other hand, in the matchday-minus-one training session, Mahesh Naorem, Richard Celis, and Jeakson Singh did not train with the team. However, the head coach is not too worried about Mahesh Naorem, as he has a minor wrist injury and could be available for tomorrow’s match. In the previous game against Chennaiyin, East Bengal FC’s new signing, Messi Bouli, made his debut for the team, playing around 30-35 minutes. He is fully available for tomorrow’s derby.

Setbacks fuel comebacks! East Bengal aims to finish the season on a positive note!
Head coach of East Bengal FC, Oscar Bruzon said, “I’m very ashamed of what happened in the last game. There will be a reaction tomorrow. The boys have been practicing well and working hard. We’ll focus on ourselves rather than the rival. Mohammedan SC is also in a tough situation and will be desperate to win at home. We need to get back to winning ways and finish the ISL season on a positive note”.
A better team, a stronger fight! Mohammedan SC is ready to give it their all in the derby!
“The games we are playing ahead are only aimed at winning. There are times we don’t win, we feel it, but we hope that in the coming games, you will see a better team on the pitch, especially tomorrow’s game. It’s a difficult task for players to stay motivated when they lose, they feel down. In the training session, we are working on our errors and will need more quality on the pitch. Tomorrow’s game is special, we want to win, and we will play with our heart, physique, and everything on the pitch” Said Meherajuddin Wadoo, the assistant coach of Mohammedan SC.
