East Bengal FC secured another victory in the ongoing Indian Women’s League 2025, defeating Sethu FC 3-0 on January 28 at the East Bengal Ground with a dominating performance, remained at the top of the table with 12 points from 4 matches.
The first half ended goalless as East Bengal failed to convert their chances into goals, while the visitors played possession-based football. They created some counterattacks but also failed to find the net. In the 35th minute, East Bengal created a promising chance when Soumya Guguloth made a solo run down the left, entered the box, but the keeper, Khambi Chanu, brilliantly caught the ball.
Before the first half’s regulation time ended, Resty had another opportunity, but once again, the keeper showcased her brilliance to deny the Moshal Girls.

In the second half, Sandhiya broke the deadlock for East Bengal FC in the 54th minute. In a counterattack at the 63rd minute, Sethu FC launched an attack but failed to make an impact as Nandago missed the net. In the 69th minute, from a corner kick, substitute player Maurine Achieng doubled the lead for the Moshal Girls.

In the 80th minute, East Bengal FC launched a quick counterattack that resulted in their third goal. Soumya Guguloth made a solo run, entered the box, forced the keeper out of position, cut past her, and placed the ball into the net. Soumya sealed the scoreline, and with that win, East Bengal FC extended their unbeaten streak to four matches, maintaining the top spot.
