Mohammedan SC Aim for Thrilling Back-to-Back Wins Against Chennaiyin FC in Crucial ISL Clash on January 15, 2025

Mohammedan SC will host Chennaiyin FC tomorrow at the Kishore Bharati Krirangan from 7:30 PM and will focus on securing back-to-back wins.

In their maiden Indian Super League season, Mohammedan SC secured their first win against Chennaiyin FC. Mohammedan SC have recently displayed a strong defensive record, remaining unbeaten in their last three matches, with two draws and one win. Meanwhile, Chennaiyin FC have struggled on the road, losing their last three away games without scoring a single goal.

The maiden season has been challenging for Mohammedan SC, as they currently sit in 12th position on the points table with 10 points from 15 matches, they have managed only two wins and four draws so far, but their defense has been impressive. They have kept three consecutive clean sheets, and another one could place them among the best defensive debut seasons in ISL history. With five clean sheets in total, they currently rank fourth in the league, behind Mohun Bagan SG (8), Mumbai City FC (5), and Bengaluru FC (5).

Chennaiyin FC are 10th in the table with 16 points from 15 games, including four wins and four draws. Despite poor away form, they have a strong big-chance conversion rate of 59.1%, the second highest in the league, scoring 21 goals led by Wilmar Jordan Gil’s eight strikes. Chennaiyin will now aim to avoid a league double defeat against the debutants, as the reverse fixtures saw defeat.

Despite numerous internal club issues, injury setbacks, and an unstable campaign in the ongoing ISL, Mohammedan SC secured their much-awaited victory in their previous match against Bengaluru FC, with Kasimov’s one strike. The head coach called the win a crucial boost, “I’m really happy to work with these players, they are such wonderful individuals. The victory brought us many positives. I always remind my players to believe in themselves,” said Chernyshov.

Tomorrow, both teams are hoping for their positive results. Mohammedan SC aims to keep up the momentum from their last three matches, while the Marina Machans are looking to end their winless streak from the previous three matches.
