Mohun Bagan SG Stun Kerala Blasters with Last-Minute Heroics in Thrilling 3-2 Victory

At the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan on Saturday night, Mohun Bagan SG secured another win. Against Kerala Blasters FC, the Mariners sealed their dramatic 3-2 victory. Alberto Rodriguez’s last-minute strike brought a comeback win for the table-toppers.

HEART-STOPPING DRAMA AND UNFORGETTABLE COMEBACKS BY THE MARINERS – DRAMA TILL THE FINAL WHISTLE.

The match kicked off with the away side’s offensive play. In the 5th minute, from the left flank, Kerala Blasters launched an attack. Noah Sadaoui played a back pass, from close to the goal line Jimenez backheeled the ball towards the net, but Vishal gripped it securely.

Within ten minutes, Kerala Blasters continued to dominate the game, maintaining 64% ball possession. However, Mohun Bagan eventually took control of the match and started playing more attacking football.

In the 26th minute, Sandeep committed a foul on Liston in the left flank. Liston took the free kick and delivered the ball into the box. Manvir attempted a header but failed to find the net.

However, in the 32nd minute, The Mariners took the lead. From an attack on the right, Asish Rai took a long grounder shot towards the far post. Sachin Suresh punched the ball but failed to clear it away, which Maclaren then placed into the net.

In the starting of the second half, at the 52nd minute, Jimenez equalized the score for the Yellow. From a missed pass by Subhasis Bose, Jimenez received the ball and took a long shot on target. After that, Kerala Blasters increased their attacking pressure on Mohun Bagan.

In the 77th minute, Kerala Blasters took the lead. From a foul play, they were awarded a free kick on the left. Luna took that free kick and delivered the ball into the box. Vishal Kaith gripped the ball, but it slipped, and Drincic put it into the net.

However, in the last quarter of the match, the Mariners became anxious to get back into the game. Coach Molina made some crucial changes by substituting Tom Aldred for Cummins, and he also brought on Ashique in place of Liston to play more offensively.

In the 86th minute, Mohun Bagan launched a quick attack from the left. Ashique quickly entered the box and passed the ball to Petratos, who took a shot towards the net. The ball then deflected off his teammate, Cummins, and went into the net, which changed the momentum of the game.

In the additional time, Mohun Bagan launched a back-to-back attack in the last minute, at the 90+5th minute. From Kerala Blasters’ initial clearance, Alberto got the ball and took an incredible strike, securing the last-minute winning goal for Mohun Bagan SG tonight.

Due to two defensive lapses, The Mariners conceded two goals tonight, but until the last minute, the defense held strong, sealing the victory for them. With that win, Mohun Bagan remains at the top of the group with 26 points from 11 matches, while Kerala Blasters FC stands in the 10th position with 11 points from 12 matches.

Next fixtures for both the teams: Mohun Bagan SG will play their next away ISL fixtures on December 20 against FC Goa. On December 22 Kerala Blasters will host their next fixtures against Mohammedan SC.
