Former Indian Head coach Igor Stimac burst out with allegations on AIFF after being sacked.
On 17 June after the controversial defeat against Qatar in FIFA World Cup qualifiers 2026, All India Football Federation terminated the contract with senior National Team’s Head Coach Igor Stimac.
After getting the notice former coach Igor Stimac was in shock, and on 21st June, in his virtual press conference he said, “The people in AIFF don’t know how to run a football house, they don’t know how to organise cups. These people only care about POWER “.
“Facts are fact. When I speak them, often you turn against me.” said furious Igor on Friday’s press conference. He said he wants to expose the truth and wants to share about India’s frustrated football management and what is his experience which he gathered from last five years.
“Without having PIO/OCI, football development in India is going to be difficult “. Stimac added, “It is absurd that the top-tier league in a nation is run by corporates and not the federation itself, All India Football Federation should be organising it and not FSDL.” Stimac accused the AIFF of their lack of support, provided during his coaching. He said he is fed up with full of lies.
In today’s press conference he said in the All India Football Federation everyone just cares about their private interest; Stimac spoke about the president of AIFF, “Kalyan only cares about being popular – recent media meets shows that. You say he is a politician, no one knows him even in Kolkata. We need someone strong and with backing to lead us. Me and Kalyan never had a relationship, it was obvious. I reported to sec.-gen. President doesn’t indulge in these things. President of the All India Football Federation gets pictures clicked with people in important positions just for social media attention. He is now on a spree giving bytes to several influencers.” He added, “IM Vijayan is a great footballer and legend in Indian Football but not the RIGHT person to be chairman of a Technical Committee.”
After bursting with allegations and bitter facts Igor said, “I sent farewell message to my players and the response I received was overwhelming. I can read it for you but I won’t – coz I’ll start crying again. It’s emotional.”
“Biggest achievement or success of All India Football Federation from last 5 years was keeping me quiet. So many show cause notices and immediate summonings.”, said Stimac.

AIFF’s Response after Igor Stimac’s virtual press conference
“It has come to our attention that former India men’s team head coach Mr. Igor Stimac has made certain remarks in the media pertaining to functioning of the All India Football Federation and some of its senior officials. The AIFF will issue a statement in this regards in the next 48 hours.”
