Crislan’s Stunning Winner Sends Gokulam Kerala Top After Hard-Fought Victory

Gokulam Kerala FC secured a crucial 1-0 away victory over Rajasthan United FC in the Indian Football League 2026–27, with Brazilian forward Crislan da Silva scoring the decisive goal in the second half at Vidyadhar Nagar Stadium in Jaipur on Saturday.

The result takes Gokulam Kerala to the top of the league standings with six points from their opening two matches. Rajasthan United, meanwhile, remain at the bottom of the table without a point.

Crislan proved to be the difference-maker, finding the net in the 68th minute before playing a part in another major moment ten minutes later. Rajasthan defender Novin Gurung received a straight red card for bringing down the Brazilian as he raced towards goal, leaving the hosts with ten players for the closing stages.

Gokulam and Rajasthan begin with attacking intent

Both teams started brightly, looking to exploit the wide areas and create opportunities from the flanks. Gokulam’s Sachu Siby and Rajasthan’s Brijesh Giri delivered dangerous crosses inside the opening two minutes.

Victor da Silva threatened first for the visitors in the fifth minute, beating a couple of defenders before sending a low shot towards goal. However, Rajasthan goalkeeper Amrit Gope dealt with the effort comfortably.

Rajasthan responded through Ricky Vanlalhriatsanga, who cut inside from the left and attempted a curling effort that missed the target.

Crislan tested Gope from distance in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper was well positioned to make the save.

The hosts subsequently enjoyed a promising spell, with Diego Mauricio leading their attacking efforts. The forward forced a corner in the 17th minute after his attempt was blocked inside the penalty area. Soon afterwards, Judah Garcia delivered a dangerous cross that deflected off Crislan, allowing Gokulam Kerala goalkeeper Shibin Raj to collect the ball before Mauricio could reach it.

Gokulam Kerala create chances before half-time

The first half also saw injury-related interruptions for both teams. Gokulam Kerala were forced to replace Ayush Adhikari with Jobby Justin, while Rajasthan brought on Shafeel PP after Pardeep Singh suffered an injury.

Gokulam Kerala gradually took greater control and created several opportunities towards the end of the half.

In the 31st minute, Victor da Silva picked out Crislan with a lofted pass. Amrit Gope came off his line to intervene, and the loose ball fell to Makan Chothe. However, Chothe failed to find the target with his first-time attempt towards the unguarded goal.

Crislan came close again seven minutes later when he connected with Victor’s corner, but his header narrowly missed the post.

Lalramsanga also threatened with a long-range effort in the 42nd minute, forcing Gope to dive at full stretch as the ball travelled just wide.

Rajasthan had an opportunity to take the lead in stoppage time. Brijesh Giri drove into the penalty area and attempted to beat Shibin Raj at the near post, but his effort went wide. Both sides entered the break with the score level at 0-0.

Crislan breaks the deadlock for Gokulam Kerala

The second half began at a slower pace, with both teams struggling to create clear-cut opportunities. Gokulam Kerala enjoyed more possession, but Rajasthan remained organised defensively.

Sarthak Golui came close to breaking the deadlock in the 58th minute after moving forward to meet a long throw-in. His header, however, went narrowly wide.

The demanding conditions in Jaipur also affected the tempo, with several players requiring treatment for cramps as the match progressed.

Gokulam eventually found their breakthrough in the 68th minute. Sarthak Golui sent a long ball towards the Rajasthan penalty area, and Adrian Castellano’s attempted headed clearance went wrong.

Crislan reacted quickly to the loose ball, showing excellent composure to lift it over the advancing Amrit Gope and into the net.

The Brazilian’s finish gave Gokulam a valuable 1-0 lead and ultimately proved decisive.

Novin Gurung sent off as Rajasthan fight back

Rajasthan attempted to respond immediately, but Christopher Kamei failed to get his free-kick past the Gokulam defensive wall in the 73rd minute.

Their challenge became considerably tougher five minutes later. Victor da Silva played an excellent through ball to release Crislan, who was heading towards goal with a clear opportunity.

Novin Gurung brought down the Brazilian just outside the penalty area. With the Rajasthan defender deemed to be the last man, the referee showed him a straight red card, reducing the hosts to ten players.

Despite their numerical disadvantage, Rajasthan continued to push for an equaliser.

Pranjal Bhumij emerged as their biggest attacking threat during the closing stages. In the 84th minute, he cut inside from the left and fired a low effort towards the near post, but Shibin Raj reacted quickly to make the save.

Pranjal threatened again in stoppage time, bending another effort towards goal after cutting in from the flank. Shibin remained alert and parried the shot away to preserve Gokulam’s advantage.

Rajasthan pushed until the final whistle, but Gokulam’s defence stood firm to secure a hard-earned three points away from home.

What’s next for both teams?

Gokulam Kerala will look to continue their winning start when they travel to Dimapur to face Nagaland United Sports Club at the Chümoukedima Football Stadium on November 14.

Rajasthan United will attempt to register their first points of the campaign when they take on Samaleswari SC away from home at the Birsa Munda Athletics Stadium in Rourkela on November 15.

With six points from two matches, Gokulam Kerala have made an impressive early statement in the Indian Football League 2026–27, while Rajasthan United face an important opportunity to turn their season around.
