Kolkata, 19: East Bengal FC Women wrapped up their Indian Women’s League 2025–26 campaign with another victory. With a 2–0 win over Sribhumi FC on Monday evening at the East Bengal Ground, East Bengal finished with 39 points, breaking their own historic points tally record. The back-to-back champions were crowned with the trophy at the end of the campaign.
About the match, the Moshal Girls started with attacking pressure, though chances from Fazila and Soumya were dealt with by Sribhumi FC keeper Khambi Chanu and the defence. In the 37th minute, Sribhumi got one of their best chances when Rimpa Haldar beat Astham Oraon and moved forward before attempting an on-target shot from the edge of the box, though Panthoi was alert enough to produce a brilliant save.
Within two minutes, East Bengal Women took the lead. In the 39th minute, Fazila attempted a shot which Khambi Chanu saved. When Soumya went for the rebound, Mousumi Murmu challenged her and gave a penalty. Fazila stepped up to take the spot-kick and increased her goal tally to 21.

The second-half scene remained the same as the Moshal Girls continued to dominate, and Sulanjana Raul added the second goal. In the 56th minute receiving a forward pass from Soumya, Sulanjana precisely placed the ball into the net to seal the score at 2–0. Though in the 85th minute, East Bengal almost got a third goal, but Soumya’s grounded shot hit the bottom of the post.

East Bengal FC Women became the deserving champions of the Indian Women’s League, rewriting their own history. They scored 47 goals while conceding only five and finished with 39 points, a massive 13-point gap over second-placed Sethu FC.
Sethu FC, with 25 points, finished as the runners-up, while Sribhumi FC and SESA FA were relegated.
Fazila, with 21 goals, won the Best Striker award. Nirmala Devi of Sethu FC won the Best Defender award, Sanfida of Garhwal United FC won the Best Midfielder award, and Panthoi Chanu, the last wall of East Bengal, won the Best Goalkeeper award after keeping 10 clean sheets in 14 matches. And with that, Anthony Andrews, the mastermind behind East Bengal Women, the most successful coach in the history of the Indian Women’s League, added a fourth league title to his name.
With another historic league campaign coming to an end, East Bengal FC Women once again proved why they are the benchmark of women’s football in India. From dominating the league to defending their crown in style, the Moshal Girls have conquered the nation again.
