Ruthless Sundarban Bengal Auto FC Crush Kopa Tigers 7–0 in BSL Title Charge

Kolkata, January 13: Sundarban Bengal Auto FC displayed a dominating performance at the Kalyani Stadium, beating Kopa Tigers Birbhum 7–0 in the ongoing Bengal Super League, bouncing back emphatically after a goalless draw in their previous fixture.

The intent was clear from the opening minutes. Sundarban Bengal Auto FC took an early lead in the 4th minute when Richmond opened the scoring, setting the tone for what would follow. The pressure continued throughout the first half, with Sundarban dominating possession and creating chance after chance.

Their dominance was rewarded again in the 31st minute, as Shyam Kumar found the net to double the advantage. Just before the break, Sundarban struck once more in added time, with Richmond scoring in the 45+2 minute, sending his side into halftime with a commanding 3–0 lead.

The second half began exactly how the first ended. Within two minutes of the restart, Saddam made it 4–0 in the 47th minute, capitalising on sustained attacking momentum. Kopa Tigers struggled to cope with Sundarban’s pace and movement, as waves of attacks kept coming.

Richmond completed his brilliant performance with two quick goals in the latter stages, scoring in the 80th and 84th minutes to register a memorable four-goal haul. The scoring was rounded off in style when Henry added the seventh in the 89th minute, sealing a comprehensive victory.

With this emphatic win, Sundarban Bengal Auto FC move up to second place in the points table with 22 points from 11 matches, firmly strengthening their position in the title race. In the last four tightly contested fixtures, Mehtab Hossein’s Sundarban Bengal Auto FC have continued to move forward with clear purpose and growing confidence.

Meanwhile, Georgi Raev’s Kopa Tigers Birbhum remain rooted to the bottom with just 2 points, and with the Bengal Super league 2025-26 season now approaching its end, they appear effectively out of the title race as their struggles continue.
