Kolkata, December 28: Howrah Hooghly Warriors continued their impressive comeback run in the ongoing Bengal Super League with a hard-fought 2–1 victory over North Bengal United FC at the Kanchenjunga Stadium on Sunday afternoon. It was a perfect Sunday battle, with both sides playing an edge-to-edge contest that kept the intensity high throughout the 90 minutes.
North Bengal United drew first blood in the 19th minute. Riki made a sharp run down the right flank, entered the box, and cleverly pulled the ball back with a minus pass for Amoh. The forward made no mistake, calmly placing the ball into the net to give North Bengal United a 1–0 lead.
Despite conceding early, Howrah Hooghly Warriors dominated possession for most of the first half. They earned several free-kicks and built sustained pressure, but a lack of precision in the final third and a series of misplaced passes prevented them from finding the equaliser. North Bengal United held firm defensively, heading into the break with their one-goal advantage intact.
The Warriors came out with renewed intent in the second half and were finally rewarded in the 60th minute. Paulo Cezae, powering his header past the goalkeeper to level the score at 1–1 and bring his side back into the game.
North Bengal United had a golden chance to regain the lead in the 75th minute when Devid Motla broke into the box from the right and found himself one-on-one with the goalkeeper. However, he misplaced his effort from close range.
Just four minutes later, the comeback was complete. In the 79th minute, David unleashed a stunning long-range strike that beat goalkeeper Debjit Ghoshal and nestled into the net, sending the Warriors’ a 2–1 lead.
Paulo Cezar’s equaliser marked his fourth goal of the campaign, placing him alongside JHR Royal City FC’s Robi Hanada and Richmond of Sundarban Auto Bengal FC at the top of the scoring charts.

With this result, Howrah Hooghly Warriors registered yet another comeback victory, underlining their resilience and fighting spirit, while North Bengal United were left to rue missed opportunities in what was a thrilling and closely contested encounter.
