Punjab FC Triumphs Over Mohammedan SC 2-0 to Secure Third Spot in ISL Group Table

Tonight’s Indian Super League fixture between, Panagiotis’ Punjab FC and Chernyshov’s Mohammedan Sporting Club ended with a 2-0 score in favor of the hosts at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi. Punjab FC scored two successful strikes in the second half to secure their spot in third position in the group table.

The first 45 minutes of the match have ended without a breakthrough, as Punjab FC and Mohammedan SC head into halftime locked at goalless. While the scoreboard remains untouched, the game has been far from dull.

The midfield battle has been intense, with both sides competing for control, and possession football. Both defensive lines stood strong to prevent conceding a goal, but in the second half, the hosts took the lead.

In the 58th minute, Luka Majcen found the net for the Shers. Punjab FC launched an attack from the right, while Mohammedan defense tried hard to clear, Majcen capitalized on the rebound with a third attempt, sending the ball into the net.

Mohammedan quickly built up a counter-attack from the left. Just at the edge corner of the box, Vidal committed a foul on Alexis. The referee initially awarded a penalty, but after rechecking, it was clear the foul occurred outside the box. From the promising free-kick position, Alexis took the shot, but it went high over the crossbar.

In the 66th minute, Punjab FC doubled their lead with a well-executed attack. Vidal initiated the move with a precise pass from the midfield to Mrjalak, who attempt a powerful left-footed shot from the mid of the box, making it 2-0 for the hosts.
