Kolkata, November 23: Uzbekistan’s PFC Nasaf delivered a dominating performance to hand East Bengal Women a 3–0 defeat in the ongoing AFC Women’s Champions League on Sunday afternoon at the Hankou Culture SC in Wuhan. It was another difficult outing for the Moshal Girls, who suffered back-to-back heavy losses in the competition.
Nasaf struck early, showing their attacking intent from the very beginning. In the 18th minute, a long through ball split open East Bengal’s backline. Kudratova controlled it inside the right side of the box and squared it across for Khabibullaeva , who calmly finished to put the Uzbek side 1–0 ahead.
Just before halftime, Nasaf found the net again when Khabibullaeva slotted the ball home in the 45+9th minute, but the celebrations were short-lived as the referee flagged for a clear offside, keeping the margin at one going into the break.
The second half began with East Bengal trying to rebuild their rhythm, but Nasaf continued to dictate the tempo. In the 52nd minute, Norboeva doubled the lead with a composed strike, giving Nasaf a firm grip on the match.
East Bengal kept pushing whenever opportunities appeared, but most of their attempts were either off target or comfortably saved. Their play remained inconsistent, and despite openings, they couldn’t convert. Across both halves, physical battles slowed down the flow, leading to long stretches of added time and multiple free kicks.
In the dying moments of the match, Nasaf struck once again. During a quick transition in the 90+8th minute, a shot came in from the left edge of the box. Though Panthoi Chanu managed the first effort, the rebound fell kindly to Khabibullaeva, who completed her brace to seal a convincing 3–0 win.
The result was a major setback for the Moshal Girls. They needed at least a win or even a narrow-margin draw to stay alive in the race for quarter-final spot. However, the defeat, and its margin, confirmed that they would not be among the best third-placed teams, officially ending their hopes of progressing further.
In the Group B standings, Nasaf moved to the top with four points and a +2 goal difference, closely followed by Wuhan Jiangda with the same points and goal difference. Bam Khatoon sit third with three points, while East Bengal Women remain at the bottom, also with three points. The group’s final picture will be settled after the remaining fixture between Wuhan Jiangda and Bam Khatoon.
