Kolkata, October 11: In the ongoing IFA Shield Group A fixtures, Namdhari SC displayed a commanding first-half performance to secure a 3–0 victory over Sreenidi Deccan at the Kishore Bharati Krirangan on Saturday. All three goals came before the break, as Namdhari took full control of the game early on and never looked back.
The match sparked into life within the opening 10 minutes when Lamine Moro broke the deadlock in the 9th minute, giving Namdhari the ideal start, from a corner a long ball came into the box, from where Moro with one touch attempted a long ranger on target shot. Just two minutes later, Conceicao doubled the lead with a sharp flying header, converting Bhupinder Singh’s inch perfect cross, leaving Sreenidi Deccan shell-shocked.


While Sreenidi Deccan seems rythim less Namdhari continues their attacking threat from anywhere their attacking third, and in the 39th minute, Bhupinder Singh added the third, effectively sealing the contest before half-time. Their early press and sharp transitions caught Sreenidi Deccan FC off guard, with Lamine Moro’s opener in the 9th minute setting the tone. Conceicao’s quickfire second and Bhupinder Singh’s 39th-minute strike showcased their ability to capitalize on defensive lapses with ruthless efficiency. Sreenidi Deccan, on the other hand, with all Indian development squad struggled to maintain shape under pressure. Though they improved after the break, but failed to create the momentum of come back to the game, their build-up lacked urgency, and they failed to find the cutting edge needed to trouble Namdhari’s backline.
In terms of fixtures, this was Sreenidi Deccan’s final group match, this loss ends their IFA Shield campaign on a disappointing note, while Namdhari SC will face East Bengal FC on October 14, a clash that will decide which team progresses, with both currently level on three points.
