Kolkata, August 30: Mohun Bagan ended their Calcutta Football League 2025 campaign on a high note with a commanding 5-2 victory over Mamoni Group Of Patha Chakra, at Naihati Bankimanjali Stadium, though both sides bowed out of contention for the Super Six stage.
The Mariners struck early in the 6th minute when, from a cross from the right side came into the box although Tushar Biswakarma’s initial attempt failed, however Pasang capitalised on the loose ball and slotted it into the net for the opener.

However, Patha Chakra hit back in the 14th minute after Gabinda Sardar was fouled in the box by Muhammed Bilal, Devid Motla stepped up and converted the spot-kick to level the score at 1-1.

Mohun Bagan restored their lead in the 24th minute when Tushar earned a foul on the left flank. From the resulting free-kick, Karan Rai produced a stunning strike to make it 2-1.

Just before the break, Piush doubled the advantage with a brilliant solo run down the left, beating the advanced keeper with a composed finish to send Bagan 3-1 up at halftime.

The second half belonged to Karan Rai, who showcased his brilliance with back-to-back goals. In the 48th minute, he curled in another incredible free-kick to make it 4-1.

Seventeen minutes later, he completed his hat-trick after controlling the ball inside the box and firing home Bagan’s fifth goal of the evening.

Patha Chakra did manage to pull one back in the 69th minute when Raunak capitalized on a mistake from the Bagan keeper, who was caught out of position, and placed the ball into an empty net. But it was too little, too late as the Mariners powered to a dominant 5-2 victory.

With this result, Mohun Bagan overtake Patha Chakra to finish 5th in the group with 17 points, while Patha Chakra ended just behind them in 6th place with 16 points. Despite the dominant performance, neither side could secure a top-three finish, meaning their campaigns ended at the group stage without progression to the Super Six.
