Mohun Bagan SG Beat Railway FC 2-0 in Fiery Clash Marked by Injury and Red Cards | CFL 2025

Mohun Bagan SG won 2-0 against Railway FC on Monday at the Bibhutibhusan Stadium in Barrackpore. Mohun Bagan SG scored an early goal and another in added time to secure all three points from the match. Despite the result, the game was played with high intensity, involving physical challenges and plenty of drama.

Within the 36th minute of the match, Railway FC’s and maidan’s experienced midfielder Tarak Hembram suffered a serious injury after a collision with Marshal Kisku. The incident forced an early substitution, as Hembram’s left leg ligaments were affected, and it appeared to be an ACL injury. He remained on the ground for over 30 minutes while first aid was administered. However, due to the lack of proper medical equipment with Railway FC, Mohun Bagan SG’s coaching staff stepped in to assist with injections and medicines. Amid poor facilities, his leg was supported using just two umbrellas until he could be taken to the hospital. Later, Tarak Hembram was shifted to AMRI Hospital in Dhakuria by ambulance.

Within six minutes of the match, Mohun Bagan SG took the lead. During an attacking move, the Railway FC goalkeeper came off his line, and Salahuddeen chipped the ball over him. Abhishek Aich intercepted but failed to clear the ball properly, and it fell back to Salahuddeen, who sent a cross from the left side of the box which Sandeep Malik placed the ball into the net. In the 33rd minute, from Tarak Hembram’s long pass, Railway FC got a goal-bound opportunity, but Nitesh Kumar’s shot from the right corner of the box went over the bar.

From Mohun Bagan, Salahuddeen and team manager Rahul Dutta were shown red cards. From Railway FC, Soumik Koley, goalkeeper Sudipta Banerjee, and Abhishek Aich were sent off.
