Kolkata, March 10: Mohammedan SC hosted their final fixture of the ongoing Indian Super League against Punjab FC and made a commendable comeback to equalize the score 2-2 tonight, ending their season on a positive note.
FIRST HALF SCENARIO:
Mohammedan kicked off the match with attacking intent. However, in the 9th minute, the visitors took the lead.

Abhishek Singh launched a ball from the left, which Majcen passed to his teammate, and Vidal received it and sent it into the net. In 27th minute, Mohammedan create a effective goalbound move, Zuidika sent a cross from the right which Manvir Saini attempt a header but went wide.
Within four minute from a counter attack Punjab FC created a possible scoring chance, In the 31st minute with a duel with Joe Luka managed to gain the ball and made a long run, from a one on one situation he unleashed a long which went wide. In the additional time at 45+2nd minute Punjab FC earned a freekick, which Vidal attempt powerful shot but the keeper Padam Chhetri made a stunning save.

SECOND HALF SCENARIO:
In the 53rd minute, Luka Majcen doubled the lead for the Shers with a quick attack from the edge of the box, unleashing an on-target shot to make it 2-0 in their favor. However, the momentum shifted when Mark Andre found the net for Mohammedan SC, reducing the deficit. In the 66th minute, super-sub Rabi Hansda equalized the score for the Black and White Army.

In the 59th minute, Rabi Hansda came on the field, replacing Manvir Saini. Franca launched an attack, cut past the Punjab defenders, and entered the box but was brought down. The loose ball fell to Rabi, who took a half-turn and sent it into the back of the net.

With a maximum of 55% ball possession, Mohammedan SC displayed a strong second-half performance at home to conclude their maiden ISL season on a positive note.
The first half of the Indian Super League season saw Punjab FC start positively, but they ended up in 8th place on the points table with 28 points. Meanwhile, for the debutant Mohammedan SC, this season has not been smooth or positive. They faced hurdles, learned a lot, and eventually finished at the bottom, aiming for a strong comeback next season.
