Kerala Blasters Triumph 2-1 Over Mohammedan SC in Heated Clash at Kishore Bharati Krirangan

On Sunday, October 20, at the Kishore Bharati Krirangan, Kerala Blasters FC snatched an away win against Mohammedan SC. There was heat both on and off the field, with plenty of drama during the 90 minutes. In the end, the Manjappada left the ground with smiles on their faces as KBFC secured a 2-1 win.

FIRST HALF SCENE : MOHAMMEDAN HEADS TO THE BREAK ON TOP!

The match kicked off with intense attacking play from both teams. In the 11th minute, on the right flank, Zuidika collided with KBFC captain Luna, resulting in Luna suffering a head injury. After receiving treatment, the match resumed.

In the 20th minute, Mohammedan SC’s head coach Andrey Chernyshov had to make a forced change as Joseph Adjei got injured. In his place, their new signing, French defender Florent Ogier, entered the field and made his debut for the Black and White Brigade.

In the 27th minute, Mohammedan SC launched a quick attack. From the right flank, Remsanga passed the ball to Franca inside the box. As Franca made a move with the ball, KBFC keeper Som Kumar stopped him in an incorrect manner, resulting in a penalty. Kasimov took the penalty and scored the opening goal for Mohammedan SC.

At the end of the first half, in the 40th minute, Noah created a great chance to score the equalizer. He goes into the box from the left, from close to the goal line inside the box, he attempted a strike, but Mohammedan SC keeper Padam Chhetri made a crucial save.

In the second half, Kerala Blasters FC gained control of the match. However, in the 59th minute, during a counter-attack, Franca got a golden chance to double their lead. He received the ball from the right flank and moved inside the box there was no defenders in front of him, but his shot went over the bar.

In the 67th minute, Luna delivered an aerial ball from the right inside the box to the far post. Noah headed the ball to Peprah, who placed it into the net to bring the equalizer for the Manjappa.

In the 71st minute, Hormipam made a rough challenge on Franca inside the box, and all the Mohammedan SC players demanded a penalty, but the referee continued the game. Three minutes later, Jesus Jimenez’s header doubled their score, giving KBFC the lead.

After that, the situation in the stadium heated up as the Mohammedan SC fans became anxious and started abusing the referee, throwing water bottles onto the field and at a small group of Manjappada in the gallery. In the 85th minute, the match was postponed because the fans couldn’t stop throwing the water bottles. After five minutes, the match resumed once the situation was brought under control.

In the last minute of additional time, in the 90+8th minute, Remsanga had a one-on-one chance to get back into the game, but he wasted that opportunity as his shot from close range was deflected by the KBFC keeper. After a lot of drama, Kerala Blasters made a comeback and snatched three points from the Black and White Army.
