On January 17, Jamshedpur FC hosted Mohun Bagan SG and extended their three-match unbeaten streak in the ongoing Indian Super League, with a second-half equaliser to end the match 1-1. The Man of the Match, Stephen Eze, scored the only on-target strike for the Red Miners and displayed a strong defensive performance to hold the defending Shield champions.
From the kickoff, Mohun Bagan SG started dominating the match with maximum ball possession and back-to-back attacks. In the 25th minute, from a corner kick, Cummins delivered the ball, which Aldred headed down to Subhasis, who, from close range, placed the ball into the net to bring the lead.
In the 36th minute, Cummins made a solo long run with the ball and, from the edge of the box, attempted a shot. With a last-ditch defensive effort, Eze extended his body and used his leg to block the shot. In the first half, the Red Miners didn’t attempt a single shot on target and took only two shots.
From the start of the second half, Mohun Bagan SG continued their game where they left off. From the right, Cummins delivered an inch-perfect cross towards the far post for Maclaren, from the close range, he didn’t make proper contact with the ball, which deflected off the bottom corner of the post.
In the 60th minute, Jamshedpur FC found their equaliser. From midfield, Eze started an unmarked run, went inside the box between three players, he unleashed a precise long shot into the net. He brilliantly brings a point for his team and sealed the scoreline.

The match slowed down after that, however, Mohun Bagan SG resumed their attacks, but Jamshedpur FC’s defense remained alert. In the 81st minute, Petratos replaced Maclaren, and within four minutes, from the right, Dimi Petratos pulled back a ball for Liston Colaco, who took a shot from the edge of the box, which the keeper saved by inches.
Throughout the match, Mohun Bagan showcased a dominant performance with 57% ball possession and attempted 20 shots. On the other hand, the hosts managed only 9 shots, with just one on target. However, their defensive resilience maintained the equalised scoreline, moving them to the second spot in the group table with 28 points from 15 matches. The defending Shield champions remained on top with 36 points from 16 matches.
