Heartbreak For Indian Football, Qatar Beat India, With A Controversial Goal

As it stands, India’s FIFA World Cup qualification journey is end now. In Doha, Qatar get a controversial win against India, on the other side Kuwait beat Afghanistan with one goal, scored by Al Rashedi at 81′ minute of the match.

Qatar vs India, the do Or die match for India started with a thriller. At 11′ minute Alrawi got the ball from Gouda and took a left footed shot from very close range but the attempt was blocked by Mehtab Singh. For India the first big chance was created by Manvir for scoring but failed to convert.

At 37′ minute of the match Chhangte scored a much awaited goalllll! for Blue Tigers, the left footed shot came from the center of the box, and the assist was from Brandon.

The second half started with so many goal scoring opportunities for both team and Qatar was desperately eyeing that equaliser, coach Igor Stimac made a couple of India changes, Sahal Abdul Samad and Liston Colaco coming on to the field for Brandon and Rahim Ali at 63′ minute. But the controversy start at 73′ minute when Qatar equalised the scoreline with a controversial unfair goal. Gurpreet Singh Sandhu saved a header from Yousef Aymen, and the ball clearly went out of play, as evident from screenshots flooding social media, but Qatari player Alhashmi Mohialdin back healed the out of play ball to Yousef Aimen and he scored . Blue Tigers’s new captain, goalkeeper Gurpreet Singh and Blue Tigers players were furious about referee’s decision and this become massive a controversy, with this decision will the referee take responsibility of 1.4 billion Indian’s heartbreak!!!

Controversy of India vs Qatar match

At 86′ minute after many attempt throughout the match finally Ahmed Alrawi scored the final goal for Qatar, and change the scoreboard 2-1 . With this frustrating results the night goes from bad to worse for India, and the Blue Tigers’ journey come to a controversial end. With this results Blue Tigers won’t qualify for the third round of FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifiers. With the group A champions Qatar, Kuwait qualified for the third round of FIFA World Cup qualifiers 2026.
