East Bengal FC Triumphs in Centenary Kolkata Derby with Historic 2-1 Victory Over Mohun Bagan SG

Centuries Kolkata derby! Centuries match win For Emami East Bengal FC! As always a high voltage match between Kolkata’s giants club Mohun Bagan SG vs East Bengal FC. A reply of hundred years back, today East Bengal got victory with 1-2 scoreline at Yuba Bharati Krirangan. Delightful moment for red and gold brigade.

Hundred years ago, Mohun Bagan and East Bengal clashed for the first time in Calcutta Football League on 28 th May 1925, and East Bengal won the match, and the one and only goal scorer was Nepal Chakraborty. Today his son was present at the stadium for witnessing the centuries Kolkata Derby.

After kickoff at 2’nd minute East Bengal started an attack, Tanmoy Das took a shot from inside the box but missed. They got match’s and their first corner at 5’th minute. Within three minutes East Bengal FC’s new singing for CFL, PV Vishnu took a grounder shot from outside of the box. First positive attack by Mohun Bagan at 9’th minute of the game, Suhail Bhat’s took shots from the right wing but, got deflected by East Bengal’s defence.

At 19’th minute  East Bengal build up an attack, Aman CK passed the ball to PV Vishnu, he took a shot towards the net and missed. At 22’nd minute Mohun Bagan SG got a set piece, Rabi Rana delivered the ball into the box but headed out by East Bengal FC’s defender. At 32’nd minute From a corner Rabi Rana delivered an accurate cross into box but East Bengal FC’s goalkeeper Debjit Majumdaar saved that.

Aman CK conceded the first yellow card of the match at 42’nd minute when he committed a foul to Suhail Bhat. Just before the half time Hira Mondal took a long ranger shot but it was off target, so he also couldn’t open up East Bengal FC’s scoreboard.

In the second half at 50’th minute PV Vishnu open up East Bengal’s scoreboard with his tremendous left footed finish, one outside cut and accurate calm finish from Vishnu brings East Bengal FC’s first goal of the match.

Within nine minutes East Bengal build another attack From Substitute player Jesin TK. Vishnu got the ball and he shot towards the net but a very well saved by Raja Barman, the second shot came from Aman CK but again a very well defend by Mohun Bagan SG’s defender. At 64’th minute from Aman CK’s pass substitute player Jesin TK scored the second important goal for East Bengal, very unmindful defence by Saurabh Bhanwala.

At 76’th minute East Bengal FC’s defender Joseph Justin committed a foul to substitute player Salahudheen Adnan, and conceded his second yellow card of the match, and with that referee send him out of the field. At 89’th minute Mohun Bagan got set piece, Fardin took that but couldn’t open up their scoreboard. In the additional time at 90+5’th minute from substitute player Taison Singh’s cross a head-up header came from Suhail Bhat, and with that he changed the scoreboard into 1-2 for Mohun Bagan SG.

Today’s matches, Man Of The Match was East Bengal FC’s scorer PV Vishnu. East Bengal got their victory with 1-2 scoreline in today’s “Boro Match“.
