Jesin TK’s Brace Rescues East Bengal FC in a 2-2 Thriller Against Mohammedan SC in CFL Super Six

In the Calcutta Football League 2024 Super Six match between the Black and White Brigade and the Red and Gold Brigade, the exciting clash ended with a 2-2 score. Mohammedan SC took the lead twice over East Bengal FC, but East Bengal made a comeback. After these results, East Bengal remains at the top of the group with 41 points from 15 matches and continues their unbeaten run.

With high pressing football, both Mohammedan SC and Emami East Bengal FC kicked off the match. Within two minutes, Mohammedan created a promising goal-bound move from a corner kick. Joseph delivered the corner kick, and Dinesh Meitei attempted a great header, but Aditya Parta perfectly punched the ball out.

In the 21st minute, Mohammedan took the lead in the match. From an attack, Sujit Singh delivered an aerial ball to the right side of the box. Joseph passed the ball to Bamiya Samad, who placed it into the net.

In the 37th minute, from the right wing, Hira Mondal passed the ball to Jesin TK, who took a shot but hit the side netting. However, within three minutes, East Bengal FC found their equalizer as Jesin TK scored the goal. After an attacking first half, both teams ended the half with a 1-1 equalized score.

Both teams resumed the second half with the same attacking force. In the 51st minute, Mohammedan SC regained the lead with Robinson Singh’s long-range grounder. Mohammedan started dominating the match with their attacking play and ball possession. In the 62nd minute, from the right side of the box, Lalthankima cut the ball back to Lalngaihsaka, who took a shot, but it was deflected by the EBFC keeper.

With Jesin TK’s individual brilliance, East Bengal FC came back into the game in the 76th minute. He made a run down the left flank with the ball and, in a one-on-one situation, calmly placed it into the empty net, as the Mohammedan keeper was out of position.

With that equalizer, the Red and Gold Brigade got a lifeline and started pressing high on Mohammedan. In added time, Hira Mondal took a shot from inside the box, close to the goal line, but Mohammedan keeper Shubhadip Pandit made an incredible save.

After various attempts and several goal-bound movements, the star-studded CFL Super-Six match between this two Kolkata Giants ended with a 2-2 scoreline today. With a striking performance and one goal, Robinson Singh from Mohammedan SC received the Man of the Match award.
