Emami East Bengal FC ended their Calcutta Football League 2024 group stage matches with a dominant 3-0 victory over Calcutta Police today at the East Bengal/Aryan Ground. With this win, East Bengal FC secured an unbeaten streak and qualified for the Super Six, while Calcutta Police fell short of advancing to the next round.
Earlier, East Bengal FC took the lead with Bathala Sunil’s accurate header in the 5th minute. The game was fully under East Bengal’s control. In the 23rd minute, Calcutta Police built up an attack from the left, and Koushik Goala took an amazing shot towards the goal, but East Bengal’s keeper made an incredible save.
In the 35th minute, East Bengal launched a quick attack. Shyamal Besra passed the ball to Tanmay Das, who took a long strike and scored the second goal for East Bengal FC.
