Kolkata, August 29: East Bengal continued their dominant run in the Calcutta Football League 2025, Group B with a commanding 3-1 victory over Kalighat MS at Naihati Bankimanjali Stadium. East Bengal looked the brighter of the two sides from the very first whistle, took early control of the game with continuous pressure on the Kalighat MS defense. In the 6th minute, Sayon delivered a cross from the right, which found Vishnu, but his attempt was well blocked by the Kalighat MS keeper.

The breakthrough came in the 25th minute when David latched on to a brilliant through ball, made his way into the box, and cleverly chipped the ball over the Kalighat MS keeper to put East Bengal ahead 1-0.

Kalighat MS, on the other hand, created a few half-chances but lacked the sharpness to truly test Debjit in the East Bengal goal. Most of their attacking moves fizzled out before becoming a real threat.

East Bengal began the second half with intent and quickly doubled their lead. In the 52nd minute, David delivered a cross that found substitute Guite Peka, who made no mistake in finishing, extending the scoreline to 2-0.

In the 87th minute, after Kalighat MS clearance, Vishnu played the ball to Shyamal Besra, he skipped past two players and unleashed a thunderous long-range strike that rocketed into the back of the net, sealing the score 3-1.
