Kolkata, July 22: Diamond Harbour FC continued their unbeaten run in the Calcutta Football League with another 1–0 victory against Mohammedan SC on Tuesday at the Naihati Bankimanjali Stadium. Dating back to last season, Diamond Harbour FC have remained unbeaten and sealed another win in their sixth match of the current campaign.
Diamond Harbour FC started the game on the front foot and took the lead as early as the 7th minute. A left-sided cross from Aqib Nawab deflected off the crossbar and fell inside the six yards box, Akarsh Hemram slot it into the net and make it 1–0 for DHFC.

Mohammedan SC, though attempting a few attacks, struggled to create clear chances and looked largely ineffective in the final third. Diamond Harbour FC continued to dominate possession and kept pressing forward. In the 30th minute, DHFC were forced into an early substitution as Subhajit Belel had to leave the field due to injury, with Vishal Das coming on to replace him.
In the 40th minute, Aqib Nawab made a brilliant solo run down the left wing and entered the box, but his shot was denied by Mohammedan’s goalkeeper, as he came out and stopped the attack. It was a golden opportunity for Diamond Harbour FC to double their lead.
Diamond Harbour FC continued their attacking momentum after the break. In the 60th minute, Aqib Nawab delivered a precise pass into the box for Akarsh, who found space inside the six-yard area. Akash Hemram attempt a shot, but the Mohammedan SC goalkeeper made a brilliant save at the near post to keep the scoreline intact.
Just three minutes later, in the 63rd minute, Diamond Harbour FC created yet another opportunity. Substitute Benjamin sent in a cross from the left, which Akash Hemram headed down for substitute Supratim, however, Supratim’s close-range volley went over the bar, missing a golden chance to double the lead.
In the 69th minute, Mohammedan got a rare attacking opportunity after Shiba Mandi was fouled by Vishal Das outside of the box. A free-kick was awarded, and Ashley Koli took a direct attempt, but it went straight into the gloves of the Diamond Harbour FC goalkeeper.
Despite a few attempts from Mohammedan, doesn’t made any threat for their opponent except one shot which got deflected the post. DHFC who looked the more dangerous side throughout the second half, creating more clear-cut chances but failing to convert. The match ended with Diamond Harbour FC holding onto their narrow 1–0 lead.
Diamond Harbour FC moved to the second spot in Group B after that win, having played 6 matches and collected 14 points. Meanwhile, Mohammedan are struggling at 11th place in the group, with just 1 point from 4 matches.
