The Blues booked the first ongoing Indian Super League final match spot after beating the Gaurs. With a 2-0 advantage, Bengaluru FC entered the pitch tonight to play the second leg of the first semi-final against FC Goa at the Fatorda Stadium. In the match, Goa almost wrote the fairytale by scoring back-to-back goals to equalize the score in the last quarter of the match. However, in the dying moment Bengaluru’s ageless maestro flipped the game and headed out FC Goa’s ISL 2024-25 campaign, ending it.
Before the clash, Gaurs’ head coach Manolo Marquez urged all of their supporters to fill the stadium for extra motivation. As per his request, tonight Fatorda was filled with fans, and from the kickoff, Goa also started playing with all their effort.

FC Goa created several goal-bound chances throughout the match; however, in the second half, at the 49th minute, Borja Herrera capitalized on a moment inside the box and converted it into a goal to reduce the score gap. In the 88th minute, from Akash Sangwan’s inch-perfect ball, super-sub Sadiku sent the ball into the net, equalizing the score at 2-2.

In additional time at the 90+2nd minute, a defensive miskick by the Gaurs allowed Bengaluru FC to capitalize on the ball. From the right, Namgyal Bhutia sent a cross into the box, where unmarked Sunil Chhetri headed the ball into the net to bring the lead back for Bengaluru FC, securing their spot in the grand ISL final.

With a maximum of 63% ball possession and 18 shots, 10 of which were on target, Goa failed to defend their fight for the ISL final spot. After having a great season, finishing second on the points table with 48 points, and fighting until the end, the Gaurs wrapped up their ISL 2024-25 campaign tonight.
Chhetri was introduced in the 55th minute. In just 35 minutes of play, Sunil Chhetri successfully completed 10 of his 12 pass attempts, created one goal-scoring opportunity, and scored the crucial goal.
In the final match on April 12, Bengaluru FC will play against the winner of second semi final which is scheduled between Mohun Bagan SG and Jamshedpur FC.
