The away side kicked off the match with an attacking pace. Within two minutes, Siverio got a chance but couldn’t convert it into a goal. However, in the 6th minute, Ritwik Kumar put Jamshedpur FC ahead. From an attack inside the right side of the box, a headed-down ball fell to Havi Hernandez, who attempted a volley shot. The Mohammedan defender blocked the shot, but the rebound fell to Ritwik, who was close to the net and placed the ball into the goal.

Jamshedpur maintained their attacking pace throughout the half. In the 29th minute, from a promising position, Mohammedan SC earned a free kick just outside the box. Alexis took the shot, but it got deflected by the human wall. In the 37th minute, from the left, Rabi Hansda passed the ball to Irshad, who took a long shot that got deflected and went wide. It could have been better, as there were more options to build the attack effectively.

In the second half, in the 53rd minute, Jamshedpur created another open chance from a quick attack. Siverio, from the right, went inside the box and played a square pass to Murry on the left. Murry unleashed a shot, but it hit the crossbar.
In the 60th minute, in place of Lalrinfela, Manvir Saini entered the pitch and created a chance for Mohammedan SC. In the 64th minute, after receiving the ball from Alexis, Manvir Saini took a right-footed shot from outside the box, which got blocked.
