A match full of twists and turns! Mohammedan SC showcased a thrilling performance to stay in the game. On January 15, Mohammedan SC hosted Chennaiyin FC and ended the match with one point, finishing 2-2. In the starting of the both half, Chennaiyin found the net twice, and despite being two goals down, Mohammedan SC scored twice in the final moments to avoid defeat.

Early on, the visitors took the lead in the 10th minute when Laldinpuia scored with a well-placed header from a goalbound attack. Mohammedan SC displayed an attacking style of football in the first half but failed to find the back of the net. In the 28th minute, Bikash Singh won a foul after making a long run into the box, where the keeper made a rough challenge to stop him. Kasimov stepped up to take the penalty but failed to convert it.
In the final moments of the additional time in the first half, at the 45+4 minute, Jordan Gill created a golden opportunity. He made a long run in a one-on-one situation and attempted a shot, but keeper Padam Chhetri made a brilliant save. Despite controlling the first half with 60% ball possession, they couldn’t equalize the score.
In the second half, the Marina Machans quickly doubled their lead. In the 49th minute, Brambilla received a through ball, skillfully entered the box, dodged defenders, and delivered a defense-splitting pass that found the back of the net.

In the 71st minute, Franca sent a low cross from the left towards the far post, where Zuidika attempted a close-range shot but missed wide. In the long 9 minutes of added time, Super-Sub Manvir Singh changed the momentum of the game. At the 90+5th minute, Manvir received a rebound inside the right side of the box and slotted the ball into the net.

Mohammedan SC increased their attack quickly. From continuous pressure, Franca managed to win the ball from his close marker and passed it to Manvir inside the box. However, Landinpuia fouled him unfairly to stop him, which awarded another penalty kick to the hosts, and with conceding his second yellow card,Chennaiyin FC got reduced to ten men down. In the dying moments, at the 90+12th minute, Remsanga took the penalty kick and converted it into the much-awaited goal, equalizing the score 2-2 for the hard-fought Black and White Army tonight.
