After the kickoff, Hyderabad FC played very aggressively in the first few minutes to secure an early lead at home. However, as time passed, the visitors took control of the game. Just before the halftime whistle, in the 37th minute, Manvir Singh put the Mariners ahead.
Manvir received the ball from Anirudh Thapa, made a run into the box, cut past the defenders, and placed the ball into the net. Mohun Bagan SG tried hard to double their lead before halftime, continuing their attack and earning back-to-back corners.
Early in the second half, Mohun Bagan doubled their lead with their captain’s header in the 55th minute. On the right side, outside the box, they earned a free kick. Greg Stewart took the free kick and delivered the ball accurately into the box in front of the second post. Without a single mistake, unmarked Subhasis Bose headed the ball into the net from the far post.
Within three minutes, Hyderabad built up a counter-attack. Allan De Souza quickly went inside the box and took a shot, but it went wide. Hyderabad desperately tried to get back into the game, but the Mohun Bagan SG defense stood strong.
In additional time, at the 90+5th minute, substitute player Lenny Rodriguez made a great attempt from just outside the box, but the shot hit the crossbar. However, with the final whistle, Mohun Bagan secured their fourth win of the ongoing ISL. Hyderabad stands in 11th position on the group table with 4 points from 6 matches.
