Nagaland United Sports Club secured an impressive 3-1 victory over Real Kashmir FC at the TRC Stadium on Friday, with Vanlalhriatzuala K scoring twice to help the visitors claim all three points in the Indian Football League.
Nagaland make early impact with two first-half goals
Nagaland United made a flying start to the contest, finding the net inside the opening three minutes. JH Remlala opened the scoring in the third minute, handing the visitors an early advantage and putting Real Kashmir under immediate pressure.
The away side continued to make their presence felt and doubled their lead in the 21st minute through Vanlalhriatzuala K. The forward’s strike gave Nagaland greater control of the contest and left the hosts with plenty of work to do.
Real Kashmir struggled to find a response before the break as Nagaland maintained their two-goal advantage. The visitors went into half-time in a commanding position, having scored twice without conceding.
Real Kashmir’s own goal proves costly as Nagaland seal victory
Real Kashmir were handed an opportunity to make a comeback in the second half when Nagaland captain Rohmingthanga scored an own goal in the 58th minute. The unfortunate intervention brought the home side back into the contest, reducing the deficit to 2-1.
However, Nagaland were quick to restore their two-goal cushion. Vanlalhriatzuala K found the back of the net again in the 74th minute, completing his brace and taking the scoreline to 3-1. His second goal proved crucial as Real Kashmir were once again left chasing the game.
Both sides made changes during the closing stages, but the hosts could not find another goal. Nagaland managed the remaining minutes, including six minutes of added time, to secure a convincing away victory.
The result gave Nagaland United a memorable evening in Srinagar, with Remlala’s early strike and Vanlalhriatzuala’s brace forming the foundation of their win. Despite Rohmingthanga’s own goal offering Real Kashmir a brief opportunity to fight back, the visitors had the final say at the TRC Stadium, where 9,786 spectators witnessed the encounter.
